In all, the Roman Catholic university had three main goals with the $25 million project that added 22,000 square feet, according to President Michael Hemesath.
First, he said St. John’s wants students to study and mingle with others in Alcuin, much like the situation in the late 1970s and early ’80s, when Hemesath attended the school. It also wants to expose students to emerging technologies, along with professionals who can help enable their use. And finally, the university wants the library’s physical spaces to reflect and accommodate changing teaching and learning styles that encourage more collaboration than ever.
Heartland Glass is proud to have been a part of this project by providing the glass for the newly renovated library.
