Glass Railing Project | Duluth, MN

A residential client in Duluth was looking for a partner to provide end-to-end support for a custom glass railing system as part of a new deck project. Because the deck had not yet been constructed, successful execution required close coordination with the deck design team to ensure proper planning, measurements, and system integration from the start. The client also wanted a solution that would maximize views while delivering a clean, modern aesthetic.

The St. Germain’s service team took a consultative approach, working closely with the client, deck designer, and key vendor partners throughout the project. Through collaboration with Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, the team evaluated multiple railing solutions and ultimately selected the C.R. Laurence (CRL) Turbo-Flex glass railing system as the best fit for the client’s needs. Leveraging our industry expertise and strong partnerships, we supported the project from design and planning through fabrication and installation, ensuring a seamless process and exceptional final result. The project also marked the first Turbo-Flex installation completed in the United States.

The Turbo-Flex system from CRL allowed each glass panel to be individually adjusted for precise alignment, creating a clean, uninterrupted sightline that is difficult to achieve with traditional taper-lock systems. In addition to delivering a superior aesthetic result, the system significantly reduced installation time, requiring roughly half the labor of a conventional taper-lock railing installation. The completed project provides the homeowner with unobstructed views, a modern architectural appearance, and a durable railing system designed to perform for years to come.
